Rosemarie Garcia, (daughter of Joseph and Mary Ferrara), at 85, passed away at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, in Glendale on March 28. Originally from New York, her contribution to this world as a fine watercolor artist followed her earlier career as a fashion designer in Manhattan, where she worked closely with famous names such as Olec Cassini and John Lench. In her youth, she also sang and always had a great love of music and entertainment.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen and Jean; two grandchildren, Christopher and Sean; and also her sister Esther. Her husband Frank of almost 60 years passed in August of 2009, and her younger sister Gloria passed in 1993. Rosemarie will always be remembered for her artistic gifts, sunny disposition and wonderful sense of humor.
Her memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, April 10 at Crippen’s Mortuary, 2900 Honolulu Ave., La Crescenta.
And for her loved ones in New York, a memorial service will be held at Calverton National Cemetery sometime in May 2013.
