M. Kevin Susank

Kevin (71) died unexpectedly in Glendale on Wednesday, March 8. He was born and raised in Glendale and recently moved to Orange County. He was raised by his mother Edna and his grandmother May. He was also lovingly influenced by his Uncle Wayne Snavely and Fr. Pat Healy of Holy Redeemer parish in Montrose.

Kevin attended Holy Redeemer elementary school, St. Francis high school and graduated from Loyola University in 1974. He enjoyed a lifelong career in the mortgage banking industry as a pioneer in data analytics. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and devout Catholic. In his free time he enjoyed music, baking, gardening, playing games and traveling, especially to Hawaii.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Edna Laker and grandmother May Snavely; Aunt Rosewitha and Uncle Wayne Snavely; Fr. Pat Healy; cousin Bill Snavely; and mother-in-law Beverly Sobraske. He is survived by his wife Ava Susank of Lake Forest, California; their four children: Matthew, Meaghan Braden (Matt), Mallory and Madelyn; his brother Ed Susank (Margaret) of Nipomo, CA; three Susank nephews: John (Amanda), Mike (Kara), Dave (Sue) and their children; nine Snavely cousins: Mary Dixon, Pat Ridder, Kathy Kuntz (Bob), Joan Snavely, Chuck Snavely (Dora), John Snavely (Georgina), Ann Shifflett (Snap), Mike Snavely, and Stephen Snavely (Janet); as well as his godchildren Aidan Kislan and Peter Sechrist; and a very large circle of friends in the St. Bede the Venerable, St. Francis, St. John Vianney and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic communities.

A 9:15 a.m. rosary will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 215 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada on Saturday, April 15. A private burial will follow.
