Elizabeth Rae Hill recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
Liz was born in England in 1946 to Ruby Eyers and Paul Wisdom Hill (her parents met during World War II in England). She attended boarding school in London. When she was 18, she left England and came to America and got married just to return to London three years later then back to America to file for divorce.
Liz received her master’s degree in psychology at UC Irvine. Afterward, she traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico for an internship and ended up living there for 18 years as the head of the English Dept. at the University of Guadalajara. Liz and her daughter Renee Davila (owner of Pattyes Closet) resided in paradise (Mexico).
When Renee was 23 they moved to Los Angeles where Liz worked at a factory in El Sereno. The factory closed in 2004. Liz then went to work at the Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Social Services as a social worker where she would help Spanish-speaking individuals fill out health forms.
In 2014, she returned to England to attend her mother’s funeral. On her way back to the U.S. she began to fall ill. Her four-year battle with illnesses eventually took end.
Goodbye, Elizabeth, from your daughter Renee Davila. Your brother Paul Hill and his two daughters, family, and your awesome friends will all miss you. Bon voyage!
