Chris was born at Glendale Memorial Hospital on Dec. 6, 1956 to his parents Bob and Shirley Western. He was raised in Glendale and attended both Lincoln and Fremont elementary schools and then Rosemont Middle School where he served as class president of both seventh and eighth grades. Chris graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 1975 and enjoyed being in the CV choral program, a capella and Charismatics and then went on to UCLA.
As a child Chris played baseball and umpired for the Crescenta Sports Association and showed incredible artistic talent in both sketching and painting.
Chris and his family moved from Southern California to Oklahoma in 2013 where he was an instructor for Canadian VO-tech and was a man of strong Christian faith. He was in leadership and choir at Mariners Church in Irvine and continued his faith and service at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City.
Antiquing, golf, gardening, NASCAR and cooking were also among his passions.
He passed away after a diagnosis of leukemia (AML) while treating at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, May 15.
Chris is predeceased by his sister Linda Western-Thompkins and is survived by his parents, his brother Ken, sister Denise, wife Cindy Moulton-Western, former wife Denise Louise Western and six children: Shane, Lucas, Chase, Lindsey, Cassidy and Kelsey.
Memorial services will be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 13 and in La Crescenta on Saturday, July 27.
