Our beloved Nina Carder passed away on April 15. She was 86 years old.

The fourth born child to James and Jewel Wilson, Nina Gaye Wilson grew up in Southern California and attended Whittier High School. She married Richard Carder in 1956 and they settled in Montrose. When two daughters joined the family, they all moved to a larger home in Tujunga.

Nina spent many years as a secretary and administrative assistant. She was an accomplished seamstress and musician as well. Later, she would start an entirely new life adventure as a substance abuse counselor at Glendale Adventist Alcohol and Drug Services.

Nina and Richard lived in that same house in Tujunga for the rest of their lives. Nina was preceded in death by Richard and is survived by daughters Sharon Carder and Julie Sievert, grandson Scott Christiansen, brother Judson Wilson and five nieces.
