Claude A. Saurer, 94, of Santa Maria passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30.

Claude was born and raised in Elizabeth, Minn. He moved to Glendale in 1941 where he married his wife Lois at Holy Family Catholic Church and continued to have a beautiful marriage for 68 years.

Claude and Lois lived in Glendale while he operated a plumbing business for 50 years.

Retiring to Arroyo Grande in 1982, he moved to Santa Maria in 1992.

Claude is preceded in death by his loving wife Lois and their daughter Barbara Jean. Claude is survived by his five children: Kathleen, Robert, Mary, Richard and Jeanne; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6 at St. Louis deMontfort Catholic Church with Rev. John Mayhew, C.J. officiating. Interment followed at the Santa Maria cemetery.
