Betty Jean Taylor

April 17, 1926 – July 16, 2012

Betty was born April 17, 1926 in Lucerne, Calif. She died peacefully in her daughter’s home in Grover Beach on July 16.

We will remember Betty for her great love of family, grandkids and great grandchildren, as well as her positive attitude and incredible memory. She had very strong convictions but didn’t force them on others, as she was also very humble. Betty was a longtime resident of La Cañada and an active member of Holy Redeemer Church. She thoroughly enjoyed time spent with the Pioneer Club and her sewing group until she was too ill to participate.

Betty is survived by her brother, Bob Rose of Arizona, and her two children, Mike Taylor of Fountain Valley and Kathy Bailey of Grover Beach. She will be missed by her four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, July 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Crippen Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 24 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montrose, with a graveside service to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.

The family requests donations be made to City of Hope for their treatment and research that allowed us 11 more years with her, or Hospice Partners of the Central Coast for their care in her last months.
