Hugh M. Hudson died Sunday, July 22 in Montrose while in Montrose Healthcare Center.
Hugh was born July 24, 1921 at his family farm in Osage, Iowa. He was the first son of Pearl Mae (Baker) Hudson and Maurice Marshel Hudson. Hugh was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Phyllis Marie (Glass) Hudson.
Hugh served in the U.S. Navy as a fighter pilot in WWII before returning to California to start a family with Phyllis. Hugh is survived by his three children: Sheryl Ann Hudson of Glendale, Hugh Baker Hudson of Santa Clarita, and Valerie Sandra (Hudson) Munch of Kent, Wash. Hugh also has a surviving sister, Elaine Hudson-Hamilton, living in Des Moines, Iowa.
A true highlight of Hugh’s life was to enjoy watching his three grandsons grow up to be fine young men: Christopher Hugh Hudson, 28, of McKinleyville, Calif., Douglass James Hudson, 25, of Santa Clarita and Matthew Mark Munch, 24, of Seattle, Wash.
The funeral will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 4625 Dunsmore Ave., La Crescenta on Thursday, July 26 at 10 a.m. followed by graveside services at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
