Barbara Taylor died on July 23 of complications after surgery; she was 85.

There will be a memorial service at the Lutheran Church in the Foothills, 1700 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge, on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m.

Barbara is survived by three sons: Ben, Rex (Karen), and Eric. She is also survived by her sister Sara Coyle; Sara’s daughter Susan McChesney (Mike) and their families; three grandchildren: Rachel Dincau (Darel), Julie Jacobs (Brandon) and Brandon Taylor. She was also blessed with three great grandchildren: Hailey, McKenzie and Brooklyn.

She was born in Peoria, Illinois and went to Hoover High and Glendale College. She was director of Sunshine Nursery School in Tujunga for many years, involved with church, the PEO KU Chapter and she loved to travel.

Barbara had many friends and was loved by all. She will be missed.
