Nov. 19, 1929 – July 31, 2012
Barbara, the daughter of Howard and Martha Galbearth, was born Nov. 19, 1929 in Elkhart, Ind. and passed away peacefully on July 31 in Glendale. She lived in Sunland for over 30 years, married to Don Walker and was well known as a cashier at Roe-Zee Meat market.
Later she moved to Overton, Nev. where she was a cashier in Glendale (Nevada) for several more years.
She was always one to make sure everyone was taken care of and made sure to always go out of her way to see them. Later in life she was very active in her local church, bringing children to it on Sundays and being a Sunday school teacher.
Barbara is survived by her children Joe Walker and wife Gina; Bryan Walker and wife Laurie Marie Rios and daughter Donna Schroeder; seven grandchildren: Brielle, Chase and Weston Walker, Clayton and Lacey Walker, Cameron and wife Nikki Sanchez, and Athena and husband Eian Hyett; great-grandchildren Trenton and Derrick Zigenfuss; Noah, Jeremy, Willem and Jace Hyett, Addison and Aubrie Sanchez; two siblings, Jim and wife Janet Galbearth, JeanAnn and husband Allen Chassey; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The memorial service will be on Friday, Aug 10 at 1 p.m. at the Green Hills Memorial Chapel located at 27501 S. Western Ave. in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
