Myrna Iris Grijalva, beloved wife, cherished mother, adored grandmother and respected business woman, passed away surrounded by her family on Aug. 7.
Myrna was the matriarch of Joselito’s Mexican Food, a pillar of the foothills since 1977. Myrna was also dedicated to the town of Montrose where her business is located. She served as president of both the Montrose Chamber of Commerce and Montrose Shopping Park Assn. for many years and helped guide Montrose into the 21st century.
She was tough, tenacious and outspoken. She was also kind, generous and so, so funny. We will remember her always.
Services were held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills – the Church of the Hills on Aug. 14. It is asked that in lieu of sending flowers, do something nice for someone.
Myrna was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Celia and her three sisters Shirley, Marilyn and June. She will be fondly remembered by her adoring husband Jose; her three children (to whom she was the greatest friend) Andrea, Jose “Lito” and Corey; her grandchildren Dawn, Mycah and Gavin; her nieces and nephews; and countless cousins and friends.
