William “Willy” David Saurer, a long time resident of La Crescenta, passed away Monday, Aug. 15 at 61 years old.
He was born Feb. 15, 1950 in Grand Forks, N.D. and moved to La Crescenta that same year. He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and was a graduate of Crescenta Valley High School. Willy served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1970-1971.
Willy has been in the heating and air conditioning business for 35 years and owned Ray’s Service, Inc. now located in Tujunga. His greatest passions in life were camping, fishing, off-roading, hot rods, barbecuing and being with his family.
Survived by his wife Marci Barba-Saurer; daughter Tiffany Stacy and husband Ryan of San Diego, who are expecting their first child in February; son Garrett Saurer of La Crescenta; son Chris Tucker, wife Whitney and their daughter Layla of La Crescenta; daughter Shannon Tucker of La Crescenta; parents Bill & Alyce Saurer of Gardnerville, Nev.; sisters Suzanne Saurer of Ontario, Calif. and Rosemary Clarke of Gardnerville Nev.; and a very large extended family.
Services will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montrose on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 10 a.m.
