JoAnn Marian Wunderlich of La Cañada Flintridge died Sunday, Aug. 11 at the age of 74 after a long struggle with strokes and diabetes.
She was born in Alameda County, Calif. on July 5, 1939 to William Ernest Coles and Eleanor Marian Armstrong, both of who preceded her in death.
JoAnn moved to Crescenta-Cañada in 1945. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Jack Wunderlich; sister Carol Hunter; children Jana and Jeff (Sharon); and three grandchildren Amy, Jennifer and Jaeger.
JoAnn’s desire to improve the life of others led to a career as vice president of Finance at Goodwill Industries of SoCA with specialized services training that enabled people with disabilities, veterans and military to serve in the work force with pride.
Memorial service to be held on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. at Lutheran Church in the Foothills, 1700 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada Flintridge.
Three days after her death, JoAnn’s precious Scottie dog Shady Lady passed suddenly of diabetes. JoAnn and Shady will be together in heaven as they were here on Earth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to American Diabetes Association.
