Dorothy Jean Germain, 81, of La Cañada passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Dorothy was born to the late Clark and Martha Lessig on March 29, 1930 in Uniontown, Pa. She graduated from Uniontown Senior High School and attended Slippery Rock State Teachers College. She and her parents moved to Florida around 1950 where Dorothy worked as a dental hygienist. Dorothy later moved to Glendale where she met Stanley C. Germain. The two were married June 27, 1958.
Dorothy and Stan enjoyed many happy years together raising a family, traveling the world and exploring North America in their RV. In addition to traveling, Dorothy enjoyed art, golf, bridge, fishing, sewing and gardening. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Eastern Star, the Emblem Club and Children’s Home Society, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Stan and their two children, Laurie McFarlane of La Cañada and Clark Germain of Los Angeles. She is also survived by two brothers, Wayne Lessig of Tobyhanna, Pa. and Robert Lessig of Parkersburg, W.Va; as well as her only granddaughter, Mia Baldanzi Germain of Boston, Mass.
Dorothy’s life was celebrated with a small family gathering on Saturday, Aug. 20.
