It is with sadness that the passing of Toni and Jeff Jones is announced. The two were soul mates on earth and now are together in heaven. Jeff died unexpectedly at home on Jan. 3 after a brief illness leaving family and friends shocked and in disbelief. He had been traveling to a hospital many miles away from their home to visit his beloved wife Toni and was distressed when he was unable to be with her after he became ill. Toni, in the hospital with multiple organ failures, fought to live and succeeded for a time, but left us on July 28 of this year.
Toni was born in Eugene, Oregon but grew up in the loving home of her parents, Manuel and Faye Gomez of La Crescenta. After graduating from CV High School in 1971 she continued her education at Glendale Community College and then pursued a career working for several doctors in the Glendale area.
Jeff lived with his parents John and Georgina in Montrose when he and Toni first met. Flash forward to 1992 when Jeff was back in town and the romance began, leading to their marriage in 1996.
Jeff was an HVAC technician at Paramount Pictures for many years and was known to help many in our community with their air conditioning during hot summers.
After retiring, Jeff and Toni decided to move to Arizona where they enjoyed the sunshine, monsoons and friends, old and new, along with occasional trips to a nearby casino. Jeff was usually involved with new projects or helping neighbors with one thing or another.
They are now with loved ones gone before – Toni laughing and telling stories while Jeff and Manuel outdo each other with their best jokes.
They leave behind Toni’s son Jeffery Pollard and daughter Jamie Pollard Cripe, and Jeff’s daughter Amy Jones Parsons along with eight grandchildren, four sisters and a brother and a large extended family.
