Richard Michael Ryback died at his home in Sunland on Aug. 15. Rick was born on Aug. 7, 1929 in the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin. There he was raised by his loving mother Helen.
While still in his teens, Rick joined the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in the military he worked on prop planes as an aircraft engine mechanic. Shortly thereafter, Rick relocated to Southern California where he would pursue various entrepreneurial ventures.
Although a private man, Rick was known to be charismatic and social. He enjoyed conversations with loved ones over his signature gin martinis.
He is survived by his son Richard of Wisconsin; son Michael of La Crescenta; daughter Jackie of Burbank; and his daughter Julie of Wisconsin. He also leaves four grandchildren as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Rick will be much remembered by ex-wife Jean, as well as other family and close friends. A private memorial was held on Aug. 27.
