Alfred “Price” MacNair died Aug. 25. He was 95.

Price’s parents moved him, brother Bud and sister Sue to the Glendale area when Price was 2. Price attended Glendale schools, including Roosevelt Jr. High School and Hoover High School, where he met his wife and high school sweetheart, Betty Jane Hansen. After high school he attended Glendale College.

In the summer of 1942, he and Betty became husband and wife while he was working at Hughes Aircraft. Price and Betty had five children, all of whom graduated from Glendale High School.

As the war wound up, Price joined the service with his brothers Bud and Cy MacNair.

Price and his brother Bud began their very long and successful careers in real estate in 1951 when they opened their little office on the corner of Dixon Street and Verdugo Road. Later, Bud opened Rossmoyne Realty on North Verdugo Road. Price remained active in the business until the 1990s.

He was also a very active member of the Glendale Board of Realtors and the Glendale Lions Club. In his later years, Price enjoyed playing tennis, golf and RVing.

He is survived by his five children: son Martin MacNair (Gay) in Ventura; son Ronald MacNair (Nancy) in Montrose; daughter Kristine Strohl (Richard) in Cave Junction, Oregon; son Gary MacNair in Glendale; and daughter Betty Orzalli (Rick) in Camarillo. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
