Julie A. Richardson

April 22, 1925 – March 8, 2020

Julie A. Richardson was born to Patrick Igoe and Mary Hoar of Ireland in Boston, Massachusetts on April 22, 1925. She passed peacefully away on March 8 after a full life of happiness.

Julie was the loving wife to David W. Richardson whom she married on April 12, 1969. She was the adored sister and last survivor of her four siblings (Edward Igoe, Mary Regan, Nora McKenzie and Helen Senger).

Julie leaves many nieces, nephews and friends who all loved her very much. She was kind, thoughtful, sweet, cheerful and very smart to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

After making the move from Boston to sunny California sometime in the late 1950s, Julie worked for the LA Times from 1965 until 1992. After retiring, Julie continued her love of learning by taking classes in literature, art and creative writing, among others. She also volunteered for many organizations including teaching illiterate adults to read and write.

Julie was a parishioner at Saint James The Less Catholic Church in La Crescenta. For many years she was involved in Bible study and attended ancient history classes where she made lifelong friends.

Julie and her husband David loved to travel and enjoyed each other’s company in the beautiful life they created together. She was an inspiration to many and will be missed.

Julie’s funeral will be held on Monday,  October 12th at 11 AM at
San Fernando Mission cemetery
