Julia was born to Italian immigrant parents in Derby Connecticut. She was the youngest girl in a family of six children. Her first job was in the family grocery store. She attended Derby High and after graduation studied at St Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Waterbury, graduating in 1943. Julia then served her country as a R.N during WW II where she met her future husband Mario. Nuptials said they headed to California where they eventually built their dream home in Shadow Hills and raised their two children, Linda and Mario Junior. Julia worked at Glendale Memorial for 40 yrs in just about every arena including the head of ICU. She was the consummate nurse, on call for family, friends, neighbors, be it emergencies, minor scrapes or a little TLC. Julia was predeceased by her husband, son, several nieces, and many life long friends. She is survived by her loving daughter who was by her side when she died.
