Samuel Gregory Carver died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 29 after a downturn in his health from which his body could not recover. He was born Oct. 19, 1947 to Stanley and Ruth in San Diego and attended schools in Eagle Rock, Seal Beach and Sunland-Tujunga.
Sam loved the ocean all his life and was a surfer in his younger days. He also liked to fish and sail. He lived for a time in Florida and in Hawaii. As one sister put it, life was an adventure for him. Sam was a kind person, sociable, quick witted and clever.
Sam is predeceased by his father Stanley Carver, mother Ruth Wolfle, and brother Fred Raviol. He is survived by his sisters Renee (Phil) Aved, Dana (Al) Rooney, Holly (Philip) Hall and Wende Wolfle; sister-in-law Debra Raviol, nieces and nephews, aunt Bina Luther, and several cousins. A very dear friend, William “Oscar” Thrasher, also survives Sam.
At Sam’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
