Robert “Bob” DeMont of Glendale passed away on Sept. 26 at age 95.
Bob was born in Pasadena and was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Lucille DeMont and his two sons Daniel and Donald DeMont. He is survived by his daughters Denise and Debbi and his grandchildren Jessica, Patrick and Nicole.
Bob was a proud U.S. Coast Guard veteran, having served his country in Japan during World War II and honorably discharged in 1946.
Bob had what he considered a “fun” career; he enjoyed his varied broadcasting “gigs” and especially loved his years at KFI radio from 1955-1991. Some of the highlights were working alongside Vin Scully and Jerry Doggett with the Dodgers as well as engineering for Gary Owens and Lohman & Barkley. Bob loved his remotes at the casino at Catalina Island playing the music of big bands. He was laid to rest next to his beloved wife and sons at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale on Oct. 5.
