Sandra “Sandi” Jean Craig of La Crescenta passed away peacefully the morning of Nov. 17 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with her family by her side. Sandi, the daughter of Glenwood and Alberta Jarrell, was born in Esther, Missouri on July 17, 1948.
Sandi was a loving wife, mother, “Nana” and friend. After raising her family, she went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in broadcasting communications with honors from the University of Central Oklahoma. She had a successful career working for CBS as a news reporter, and ABC as a news director and anchor, receiving many accolades for her work. Sandi then went on to become an actress and member of the Screen Actors Guild. Sandi spent her final years pursuing her passion for writing screenplays and novels, published a blog, “The Sunny Report,” was a board member of The Women’s International Film & Television Showcase (“TheWIFTS”), and enjoyed being a member of a local group, Women Who Write.
She is survived by her husband Peter Gluck; son Aaron (Meghan) Craig; daughter Allison (Ted) Hodina; stepchildren Alexandria Gluck, Joshua Gluck, and Aaron Gluck; sisters Elizabeth “Liz” Hargiss and Norma Kennon; two grandchildren, Mabel and Joe, whom she loved with all her heart; and many special nieces and nephews.
Sandi was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Glenna Burgess, Alan Jarrell, Gordon Jarrell and Dennis Jarrell.
