Oct. 23, 1938 – Nov. 13, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of longtime Crescenta Valley resident Jacqueline Ann Mickelson. Jackie passed away on Nov. 13 with her daughter Terri and son-in-law Matt by her side.
Jackie was born in Glendale on Oct. 23, 1938 and grew up in La Crescenta. Jackie enjoyed her career as a keypunch operator working for Drewry Photocolor and other companies. Jackie met her husband Bill at Drewry Photo and they were married on June 26, 1971. Jackie and Bill made La Crescenta their home for almost 50 years and they raised their daughter Terri there.
Jackie loved to travel to scenic areas like Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park; they took frequent trips to one of their favorite places – Pismo Beach.
Jackie was a valued volunteer for 21 years at Verdugo Hills Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter Terri James (Matt); two granddaughters Rochelle (Ryan) and Raelene (Kenny); and two great-granddaughters Evy and Riley.
Jackie enjoyed spending time in the backyard watching as her husband created a beautiful landscaped flower garden. Jackie also enjoyed spending time with her great grand-dog Tipper and watching as her great granddaughters played.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Jackie’s honor to your local SPCA or plant a tree in her memory. Thank you for loving my mom.
