Shirley Ann Noble

1947 – 2018

Shirley Ann Noble was born on April 4, 1947 in Grinnell, Iowa to John and Monica Jarboe. She was the oldest sibling to brother Pat and sister Susan. She would often reminisce about her playful childhood in Iowa and her loving family.

After the family relocated to California in 1957, Shirley began her life’s adventures. She was a graduate of Crescenta Valley High School, class of ‘65, and attended Glendale Community College. Upon graduation, she traveled to Oahu, Hawaii to visit with her aunt and family and there found her one and only true love. Shirley married Fred Noble on Oct. 4, 1969 and quickly began their family together. Shirley would go on to have three children: Stacy, Stephanie and John. With unending strength and grace, she endured the death of her husband in 1988. Shirley would go on to raise her three children and celebrate their accomplishments.

She is the proud grandmother of five grandchildren: Emmy, Reece, Ryan, Cassie and Cooper. Her family is and always has been her greatest source of joy. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends!

She was never one to miss an adventure. She loved her travels to Iowa, Hawaii, Las Vegas and wherever her journey would take her. She enjoyed visiting with friends, sharing a glass of wine and never-ending card games.

Shirley was always good for giving a loving embrace, a beautiful smile and positive attitude. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten…

Shirley is survived by daughters Stacy Thompson (Tim) and Stephanie Berger (Eric); son John Noble; grandchildren Ryan Thompson, Catherine Thompson, Emmy Berger, Reece Berger and Cooper Berger; sister Susan Linn (Jeff); sister in-law Jo Ann Jarboe (Pat, deceased); and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

There will be a funeral mass for Shirley on Friday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 4651 Dunsmore in La Crescenta.
