Angela Jaime Fyke

Nov. 25, 2022

It is with terrible sadness that the family announces the passing of Angela Jaime Fyke, 76, on Nov. 25 due to further complications from a stroke she suffered in 2011.

In 1965 Angela married Jim Fyke, who’s own parents – Rolland and Dorothy Fyke – lived on Rock Castle Avenue in La Cañada. Jim and Angela raised their two children, Yvonne and James, in their first house on Los Olivos Lane in La Crescenta. As the children grew, they attended Lincoln, Clark and CV and Angela had time to pursue and earn her realtor’s license. Later, when the children were grown, Angela worked in the medical field as a phlebotomist.

Angela had an honest character and a very strong work ethic, which all who knew her admired and respected. Angela was a highly dedicated mother and later grandmother who, without any reservation, would make selfless sacrifices of her time and energy for her children and grandchildren, sister, nieces and nephews. Angela adored her family, loved the outdoor beauty from Descanso Gardens to Mammoth to the beach. Angela loved all animals, especially cats, and … coffee.

Her son James recalls that, as a sleepy baby, he would lay his head on his mother’s lap while attending morning church services at First Baptist, La Crescenta.

“Her genuine love brought us all a sense of security. Thank God she was our mom,” he said.

Angela lived a simple life. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The family chooses to celebrate her life in happier times with a picture of Angela and her grandson, Ryan Fyke.

Funeral services are being handled by Crippen Mortuary.
