Long-time resident in the Crescenta Valley, Philip Laing passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3. Phil was a JPL engineer from 1967 to 1984. After that, he worked as an engineer at the Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, Calif.

Phil was born in Olympia, Wash. in 1943. He is survived by his wife Barbara Laing and three children Edward, Lydia (Cabrera) and Douglas.

Phil passed away after a seven-year battle with dementia. He was only 68 years old.

Services were on Monday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Glendale.
