Gwen Williams went to be with the Lord on Dec. 10.  She was born in Glendale and spent her married life in La Crescenta.

Gwen met her future husband Harry at the Verdugo Hills swimming pool in Glendale when they were 12 years old. They dated through junior high and high school in Eagle Rock. They had a 70-year friendship and a 60-year marriage … an exceptional love story.

Gwen’s greatest pleasure was following and participating with her children and grandchildren’s adventures in life. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.

Gwen is survived by her husband Harry, her son Duane (Gina), her daughter LouAnn (Matt) and grandchildren Rachel, Aaron, Kelly (Eric), Sheena and Sammie. She will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Jan. 31, 2015 at 1 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of La Crescenta, 4441 La Crescenta Ave., La Crescenta, in the downstairs Fellowship Hall. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society in her honor.
