God’s Closet Looking for Volunteers

God’s Closet – Tujunga, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) ministry, is looking for volunteers to help with sorting donated children’s clothing for distribution. Donations of gently used or new children’s clothes and shoes for newborn to teenagers are from individuals, families and businesses within the community. Donations are accepted by God’s Closet – Tujunga any time throughout the year.

One day per quarter, God’s Closet opens its doors for parents and guardians of children who can come “shop” the donated clothing for a $1 admission fee. The clothes chosen by parents and guardians are free of charge. The ministry is supplied by and provides support to the community in the surrounding area.

According to volunteer coordinator Lily Cirstoiu, the reasons to lend a hand are many.

“It’s fun to volunteer for God’s Closet – Tujunga. You become a blessing to others in your community, meet new people and make new friends,” she stated. Volunteers also shop first without paying $1 fee. There is no age limit for volunteers.

Volunteers are needed for God’s Closet during sort day, planned for Sunday, Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 7156 Valmont St. in Tujunga; parking is available on Samoa and Valmont, behind the Sunland-Tujunga SDA Church.

Lunch is provided.

For further information, to donate or volunteer, please email tujunga@godscloset.com or visit www.godscloset.com. Volunteers can text their first and last name and “GC volunteer” to Cirstoiu at (818) 521-2483.

“We can’t do this without your help,” said Cirstoiu. “[Volunteers] are essential in order for us to accomplish this ministry.”
