Day of Recollection in La Cañada
Sister Deborah Lorentz, Sister of Social Service, will lead a day of recollection at Descanso Gardens today, Thursday, Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Oak Room at Descanso Gardens. The event is sponsored by the St. Bede the Venerable Roman Catholic Church Council of Women.

All are invited to attend this special event. Check in and hospitality will begin at 8:30 a.m. Attendance includes admission to the Gardens for the entire day. For reservations, contact Dorey Huston at (818) 303-5402 or contact Ms. Huston at doreyhuston@yahoo.com.

“Overcoming Barriers to Wholeness” Classes Continue
Every member of the community is welcomed and invited to attend the fourth Friday healing classes which are offered by St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Fr. Rob Holman continues the teaching on “Overcoming Barriers to Wholeness: Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual” on the fourth Friday of each month with the next class Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. These classes take place at the offices of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 3901 Foothill Blvd., second floor, La Crescenta. The monthly healing classes include music, teaching and healing prayer according to the Christian faith. St. Luke’s hope is to offer a healing touch to all who attend including those suffering and seeking healing due to divorce or other relational issues.

Beca Lewis at CSL-La Crescenta
The Center for Spiritual Living – La Crescenta is hosting author Beca Lewis on Sunday, Feb 26.

Lewis is the author of “The 4 Essential Questions” and “Living in Grace.” She will be hosting “The Why, What How to Shift” workshop at the 10 a.m. service followed by an insightful workshop from noon to 2 p.m. Donation is $25.

CSL – La Crescenta is located at 4845 Dunsmore Ave. in  La Crescenta.


Meditation Classes Offered
Kadampa Meditation Center California is a non-profit organization that offers meditation classes to help people find inner peace and happiness. Currently, the center is offering a seven week course titled “Introduction to Buddhist Meditation: Happiness From a Different Source” in La Cañada and Glendale.

Friday mediation classes take place at the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA, 1930 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge.

Friday classes are from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 24 and March 9, March 16, March 23 and March 30.

Sunday classes are from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Brand Park – Whispering Pine Teahouse, 1601 W. Mountain St. in Glendale.

Sunday classes are Feb. 12, Feb. 19, Feb. 26, March 11, March 18 and March 25.

Tuesday Table Talk  
On Tuesday, March 6 Bethel Church will offer a showing of the film “Dolphin Tale” preceded by a potluck supper. The potluck starts at 6:30 p.m.; the video starts at 7:15 p.m. followed by dessert and discussion at about 9:15 p.m.

A badly maimed juvenile dolphin is given a new tail, and a new life, through the efforts of the humans who save it in this true-life adventure saga. After losing its tail to a crab trap, the dolphin is doomed until a young boy spots its plight.
