This Week at LCIF
As the Lenten Season continues, Lutheran Church in the Foothills invites the community to for the fifth Sunday of Lent service at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 18. Pastor Scott Peterson will lead a sermon titled “Darkness Grows.” Afterward, all are invited to meet in the Fellowship Hall for breakfast treats and a time to get know each other. All are welcome!
Lent Supper and Worship continues on Wednesday, March 21 with a light supper at 6 p.m. (donations are welcome) followed by a time of worship at 7 p.m. using the Holden Evening Prayer. All are invited to prepare their hearts for the celebration of Easter on April 1.

Verdugo HUUT Brings the Best of L.A. Up the Hill
The Unitarian Universalist Church of the Verdugo Hills has opened its acoustically outstanding 100-seat sanctuary to LA folk, alt-country and acoustic musicians as well as authors, poets, and comedians for the monthly Verdugo HUUT. The theme for Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. is “Whiskey In A Jar And Other Vices.” Tickets are $5 for this teens-and-up performance.

CVCHURCH Hosts Annual Easter Egg Hunt
CVCHURCH is having its annual free Easter egg hunt at Two Strike Park on Saturday, March 31. There will be two hunts – one at 10 a.m. and another at 10:30 a.m. Free pictures available with the Easter Bunny, too!
Two Strike Park is located at 5107 Rosemont Ave. in La Crescenta.
‘The Passion of the Christ’ at Bethel Church
On Sunday, March 25, Bethel Church will offer a showing of the film “The Passion of the Christ” (rated R). This graphic depiction of the suffering of Jesus during His last days will be a moving lead-in to the Holy Week commemoration. A suitable kids film will be shown while adults view the main feature. The video presentation starts at 5:30 p.m. A potluck supper precedes the movie at 5 p.m. Free to attend.
Easter celebrations at Bethel Church include the following events during Holy Week: Palm Sunday worship at 10 a.m. on March 25; April 1 an Easter sunrise service at 7:30 a.m., free fellowship breakfast at 8:45 a.m., worship and praise service at 10 a.m. followed by a free children’s egg hunt. All in the community are welcome.
