LCIF Welcomes Community

Lutheran Church in the Foothills (LCIF) invites the community to join in a series of Holy Week observances leading up to Easter Sunday, offering a blend of traditional worship and family-friendly festivities. The congregation will gather tonight, Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. for a Maundy Thursday service, which commemorates Jesus’ final Passover meal with his disciples, commonly known as the Last Supper. The service includes Holy Communion and includes the celebration of First Communion for two young people who have studied with Pastor Rick Hall in preparation to receive this Holy Sacrament.

On Good Friday, April 18, LCIF will hold a solemn worship service at 7 p.m. to remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus. The service provides an opportunity for quiet reflection and reverence during one of the most significant moments of the Christian calendar.

The week will culminate in a joyful Easter Sunday celebration on April 20. In addition to 10 a.m. worship marking the resurrection of Jesus and the triumph of life over death, the church will host a special Easter breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by an Easter egg hunt. Families are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy cuddle time with bunnies at the petting zoo.

In conjunction with Holy Week, LCIF is continuing its food drive to support families in need. Community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, which can be dropped off during any service or at the church office during the week.

Visit lcifoothills.org for event details. For more information or to request/offer help, email office@lcifoothills.org or call (818) 790-1951. The church is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd in La Cañada Flintridge. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
