August forgiveness classes, facilitated by Rev. Beverly Craig and Gary Bates, RScP, will be offered at Center for Spiritual Living-La Crescenta. Classes include Aug 13. – Forgiving Yourself, Aug. 20 – Forgiving Others and Aug. 27 – Forgiving World Events.
“Radical Forgiveness” by Colin Tipping is textbook for the classes. Love donation will be collected.

Summer Night Concert at CVChurch
CV Church is preparing for its yearly summer nights concert on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m. Jess Penner will be having a record release party for “Building Heaven.”
Penner is a successful solo artist whose music has been featured in numerous TV shows and commercials. She recently returned from her second USO tour in Europe. Visit her website at www.jesspenner.com.
The CV Church Band will open things up with some great summer songs by Pharrell Williams, Demi Lovato and others, and then the celebration continues outside with food trucks, acoustic stage featuring Browdersister, and vendors including NoTox natural soaps and lotions and The Little Truck Co. with their hand-made toy trucks. Come have fun with us!

Classic Car Nights at Lake Avenue Church
Lake Avenue Church will hold free Classic Car Nights on Aug. 8 and Aug. 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in its west parking lot. Local car clubs will showcase classic and antique cars and there will be hamburgers and hot dogs cooked to order, music and a raffle. Admission is free and donations will be accepted for the food.
The Aug. 22 Classic Car Night will also feature a chili cook-off. Free to chili eaters, but $15 to enter a chili for competition.

Choral Evensong at St. Luke’s Anglican
The public is invited to attend a contemplative evening of worship in song, led by the choir of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. This richly historical and moving service will feature the music of Mozart and Rutter, as well as traditional chants and responses.
