The YMCA of the Foothills will host the annual community prayer breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 a.m. at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA. Everyone is welcome to the Y to pray with like-minded people of faith on behalf of the community, state, nation and world.
This year’s keynote speaker is Sun Valley resident pastor Domingo Mota. Mota joins a special group of past prayer breakfast speakers including Dennis Prager, John Wooden, Rafer Johnson, Jim Nabors and Stephanie Edwards.
Mota was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1990. He went on to play professional baseball for six seasons. Pastor Domingo currently serves as a Los Angeles Dodgers chaplain to Spanish speakers in the Dodgers organization.
Pastor Domingo is the founding senior pastor for Winds of Hope Ministries in Sun Valley and has a passion for human organizational and community development.
Pastor Domingo also serves as director and admissions advisor for Christian Community College on its Sun Valley Campus. He is also the facilitator for the 24/7 DAD program in Northeast San Fernando Communities mentoring and teaching fatherhood classes that foster young fathers from 14-24 years old.
He lives in Sun Valley with his wife Vivian and their three daughters Giselle 12, Cassandra, 9, and Eliana, 5.
In addition to the address by Domingo Mota, several local pastors, priests and rabbis will offer personal reflections on the city, nation and world. Local resident, comedian, actor, Disney Channel personality Ron Pearson will serve as master of ceremonies.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $20 at the door and can be purchased at the Y. Members can also purchase tickets online at www.ymcafoothills.org. Table sponsorships are available for $100.
