Unity hosts Broadway
Unity Church of the Foothills is hosting “Broadway! with a Message” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. This musical FUN-raiser features Heather Lundstedt, star of “Phantom” and “Oklahoma” and other performances. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple; children 12 and under attend free. Tickets include music fun and food and can be purchased in advance.

Lunds to receive award
Allen Lund, founder and CEO of the Allen Lund company, with his wife Kathleen will receive the 2009 National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award on Oct. 5, at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center, Washington, D.C.
The couple is being honored for their commitment – both voluntary and financially – to Catholic education.
Allen serves as chairman for the board at St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge, chairman for the Board of Regents at the University of Portland, Portland, Ore.; and he is a board member for the Catholic Education Foundation, Los Angeles. Kathleen serves on the board of directors for Sacred Heart Elementary School.
Allen and Kathleen established the Lund Family Scholarship benefiting St. Francis High School and Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy. They have six children and 22 grandchildren.
“Special Delivery” coming to the Center
Award-winning actor Harry Hart-Browne is bringing his one-man-show “Special Delivery” to the Center for Spiritual Living-La Crescenta on Saturday, Oct. 10. “Special Delivery” is billed as “A 20-character one-man-play about Remembering the Spirit, While doing the Earth Gig.” Suggested donation is $25 for the dinner and the show. Italian dinner only is $10; show only is $15. Dinner is served at 5 p.m., and the one hour show will begin at 6:30 p.m. Center for Spiritual Living – La Crescenta is located at 4845 Dunsmore Ave., La Crescenta.
