The Center for Spiritual Living-La Crescenta is hosting its third Metaphysical and Artisan Faire on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the church grounds. Nestled in the hills of La Crescenta, holistic teachers, healers and presenters of artisan and unique products will be available in one event.
According to organizer Myrna Perez, the faire will provide information on alternative medicine, among other things.
“I want people to become more acquainted with holistic medicine alternatives because a lot of people are unfamiliar,” said Perez.
Added fellow organizer Laney Clevenger, “With [today’s] technology and science there’s more awareness being shown on how the body can heal itself.”
Four presenters will be sharing their knowledge and experiences.
Kristin Dwan of The Healing Woods in Altadena has been noted as putting a “nurturing fire” under people’s healing process and spiritual transformation as a Reiki master coach who has also been a practicing healer for 28 years. She will be offering tarot readings, chakra balancing and cord cuttings via Reiki, and will be presenting a positive change process for her presentation. $10 suggested donation. She will be presenting at 10:30 a.m.
For 25 years, renowned spiritual empath and author Tracee Dunblazier has helped clients understand and gain power over the spiritual forces and past life influences that impact their present lives. She will hold a “mini workshop” on Saturday at noon. $10 suggested donation.
David Hamilton Nichols is a spiritual teacher, author, and healer. He has seen clients and given spiritual events and a hospital energy workshop. He will present “Know What Your Soul Already Knows.” Attendees will learn to experience Divine guidance and tap into their inner wisdom for help and healing. He will do mini-readings for the audience if time allows. He is offering intuitive reading and energy healing sessions all day. DivineBlaze.com. $10 suggested donation.
Author Florence Ren Figueroa, aka Ren Rasa Yogamaya, E- RYT 500, is registered at the highest level with the Yoga Alliance. The Eat By Color presentation is informational, includes a reading and answers to questions – for people of all ages. Attendees will learn what color foods to eat and when to put them into the body. $10 suggested donation.
Additionally, artisans will be on hand to present their wares. Among these is Nadiya Littlewarrior, a gourd artist with Spirit Vessels Studio. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Littlewarrior is an award winning gourd artist who is known around the world. Both the Southwest Museum and Gene Autry Museum of the American West have sold her art in the their gift stores. The faire presents a rare opportunity to see her creations.
Artist Sharon Miller has presented her watercolor work, as well as work in other mediums, at the Montrose Art Walks. Her portraits, animal art and landscapes are known to enhance any visual subject she chooses to paint.
Shelley Matousek specializes in several mediums: fine art basketry, gourds and fused glass. She is a member of the Pasadena Society of Artists and River Rock Arts Colony. She will demonstrate the creation of a pine needle basket demo during the faire. She has said that she finds basket making a “very good healing therapy for many types of issues.”
In all 60 artists and practitioners will be scattered throughout the grounds of the Center for Spiritual Living-La Crescenta, 4845 Dunsmore Ave. The faire is free to attend though some presentations have a suggested donation. Raffle items have been donated by many of the vendors. Tickets are on sale at the faire.
Children are welcome and vegan fare and homemade goodies will be available for purchase.
