Treasure and Crafts Sale
Shadow Hills Presbyterian Church will host its Annual Treasure and Crafts Sale on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The handmade gifts, vintage and gently used good stuff make excellent teacher, neighbor and hostess gifts. We have collectable plates, Barbie dolls, costume jewelry, china, glassware, etc. plus lots of gently used Christmas decorations. The handmade items made are by Shadow Hills’ “Church Ladies.”

Buster Keaton Silent Movie Event
Music for Charity Events presents a benefit concert on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 4 p.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church to support the Geoffrey Grisham Bipolar Research fund at UCLA.
The event will feature Mark Herman, one of America’s busiest theatre organists. It will feature a Buster Keaton silent film called “Our Hospitality.”
Admission is free. All donations are tax-deductible and accepted by cash or check for the research fund. Checks may be made to St. George’s EpiscopalChurch, with Geoffrey Grisham Bipolar Research written in the memo space for tax deduction.

Seminar on Mindful Aging
The community is invited to join a free seminar on mindful aging facilitated by Kathy Garcia Egan, LCSW. Attendees will learn practical tools to enrich them on life’s journey. The seminar is being held on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in La Crescenta. Reservations are required. Channeling The Light Of Divine Wisdom and Energy
The Center for Spiritual Living-La Crescenta is hosting David Hamilton Nichols in Channeling the Light. There will be spiritual information with lively Q&A and a lot of energy transmitted to fill the room. The event is on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (longer if guests wish) and is $20 to attend.
The purpose of the event is to foster spiritual upliftment through communication with the “Spirit” (including teaching both with messages and Q&A) and through transmitting/receiving spiritual energy, along with meditation space. Fifty percent of all monies raised will be dedicated to the Center for Spiritual Living La Crescenta.

La Cañada Congregational Church Plans Christmas Concert
The Chancel Choir of La Cañada Congregational Church will present An Old-Fashioned Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
The choir, under the direction of music director Dr. Harold Daugherty, will sing both sacred and secular carols. The program will also include carols in which the audience will be invited to join in singing.
Soloists will be soprano Mariana Ramirez, mezzo-soprano Christina Thomas, tenor Russell Smith and bass Kurt Winterhalter. The choir will be accompanied by organist and pianist Joseph Klice. A free will offering to support the church’s music program will be received. Free childcare is available for those attending the concert.
The performance will be followed by a reception, presented by the Worship Board, in Fellowship Hall.
