Finish the Year at Center for Spiritual Living-La Crescenta
The Center for Spiritual Living is hosting several events to carry through the year.

Tonight, Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m., the Sunland Tujunga Art Assn. is having a special holiday auction fundraiser in Chaffee Hall.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. there is a candlelighting ceremony. Special music provided by Karen Mitchell and Evan Marshall.

On the morning of Dec. 31 at 4 a.m., there will be a world peace meditation. It’s early, but it’s worth joining millions of like-minded people from around the world to pray for world peace.

The Center for Spiritual Living is at 4845 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta.

Lesson and Carols at St. Luke’s Anglican
St. Luke’s Anglican Church presents the Annual Service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m.

This holiday service, modeled after the famous tradition at King’s College in Cambridge, England, will feature choral masterworks by Handel, Rachmaninoff, Bach and Holst, as well as cherished Christmas carols.

This event is free and open to the public.

Tuesday Table Talk  
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Bethel Church in Sun Valley will offer a showing of the film “God’s Not Dead” (rated PG).

When college student Josh Wheaton encounters an atheistic philosophy teacher who insists that his students will only pass by admitting that God is dead, Josh dedicates himself to proving the professor wrong about God.  The video will be preceded by a potluck supper.

The potluck starts at 6:30 p.m., the video presentation starts at 7:15 p.m., followed by dessert and discussion at about 9:15 p.m.  Free.
