CSA – Crescenta Sports Association – players had the chance to show off their skills at the opening day ceremonies on Saturday at CV Park. Many of the 28 teams, composed of 300 players ages 3 to 12 years old, held scrimmages to show their throwing, catching and hitting abilities.
“It’s a chance for them to get experience and let the coaches see what they have,” said CSA President Ted Amorosi. “We’re all excited because we are the premiere league in the foothills.”
A highlight was the appearance by Trevor Bell, a former player with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Crescenta Valley High School – and CSA. Bell took time to meet the players and their parents and sign baseball paraphernalia.
The Bronco division kicked the season off this week with the remaining divisions taking to the field on the weekend.
