The Crescenta Valley High School softball team crushed the visiting Arcadia Apaches 7-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Falcons’ returned to the field on Saturday in the Loara Tournament, losing 3-2 against the Cerritos Dons and 5-2 to the Savanna Rebels.
But on Thursday, the team was strong. Erin Ashby contributed with four hits, two RBIs, and a triple. Singles were knocked out by Nicole Salas, Delaney Gay, Jessica Morena, Alyssa Sovereign and Sydney House. Meanwhile, the Arcadia Apaches (6-7,3-2) received seven hits from Ashleigh Debarge, Blaire Barchan, Emily McQuaid and Sam Miller. Apaches scored only one run. Crescenta Valley went on to win 7-1 in a Pacific League match-up.
On Saturday, Alyssa Sovereign, Nicole Salas and Cecelia Martinez hit doubles in the first tournament game. Sovereign contributed with a home run; Nicole Salas and Erin Ashby both hit doubles in game two, however it wasn’t enough. Crescenta Valley lost both games. The Falcons are now 7-8, 3-4 in league. Falcons will visit Glendale High School today at 3:30 p.m. on the softball field.
