Last Friday, during the early afternoon the Pacific League Track and Field Division 1 Prelims were hosted at Arcadia High School. CV faced off against their rivals schools; Arcadia, Burbank, Burroughs Glendale, Hoover, Muir and Pasadena. This is a time that all the other Leagues in California follow the same guidelines as they work their way to their League finals. Many athletes hope to make their way thru the finals and qualify for the CIF qualifying competition as well. The most important idea that Coach Evans stressed, “Our focus was to qualify. I wanted kids who did not have a chance to qualify to go on, run their fastest races.” The Falcons made an excellent showing and will have to continue to work hard to maintain a strong League status at the Pacific League Finals held Friday night, May 3rd at Arcadia starting at 6pm for field events.
Falcon boy varsity runners that qualified for races included: Gabe Collison running the 1600m (4:23.34), and the 800m (2:02.29).
