The Crescenta Valley High School junior varsity baseball team faced off against the Arcadia Apaches on Friday afternoon battling for the Pacific league title. Under the tutelage of Head Coach Mike Padula, with assistant coaches Richie Carrol and Grant Clark, the Falcons won its third consecutive JV baseball league championship 5 to 3.
Highlights included Jake Denne knocking in two go ahead runs with a single in the top of seventh inning. The two out rally started with a walk by Keegan Farias who doubled home two runs of his own earlier in the game.
Patrick Adams kept the inning alive with a sharp single to right field followed by a walk to Chas Turansky, loading the bases for Denne’s line drive to right field. Freshman Josh Cook, called up from the frosh team last week, pitched five innings allowing three runs before turning it over to Turansky, who took over after Cook walked the first batter in the bottom of the sixth inning. Turansky got the final six outs without allowing a base hit.
Other Falcon base hits came from Michael Lim, Chas Turansky and Tommy Gustovich.
