The Crescenta Valley High School mountain bike team wrapped up its regular season on May 6 at Power the Pinnacles in Lake Arrowhead.

Now in its fourth season in the SoCal league, CV cycling had its most successful season to date ending the regular season with 17 podium finishes. Additionally, in the final season standings, five CV cycling members finished on the podium in their respective classes with medals awarded to those riders who finished the series in the top five overall.

Pamela Boqust was fifth in varsity girls, Lucas Rowton was third in varsity boys, Evan Cobb was fourth in D1 sophomore boys, Sevag Bosnoyan was fourth in D2 sophomore boys and Adam Rowton was third in D1 freshman boys.

“Our young team really learned a lot about themselves this year,” said head coach Jim Rowton. “Many of our riders had very little real cycling experience and through practice, determination and hard work, they transformed themselves into experienced and solid riders.”

Sunday’s race podium results include Lucas Rowton who took fourth place varsity boys, Evan Cobb placed third D1 sophomore boys, Sevag Bosnoyan secured fourth place D2 sophomore boys and Adam Rowton took fourth place, D1 freshman boys.

Rounding out top 10 finishers were Pamela Boqust, sixth place varsity girls and De-Anna Lopez, eighth place freshman girls. Perini Elsaeian finished 11th in the JV girls and Alex De Roache had a 13th place finish in D1 freshman boys.

Two graduating seniors, Pamela Boqust and Dillen Maurer, have been part of CV cycling since the SoCal league began. They are part of a unique group of riders who are the first in Southern California to have raced mountain bikes all through their high school years in the high school league. Other team members include Tenni Manoukian, Toby Iven, Bryant Mohan, Ty Payton, Dylan Steinert, Daniel McPherson, Michael McLaughlin, Grant Ackerman, Alvin and Adriel De La Paz, Alex Chraghchian, Asbed and Khatchig Papisian and Issa Al Hadeed.
