The Crescenta Sports Association’s under 6 years old Tournament Team competed against some of Southern California’s best baseball teams during the Memorial Day Weekend Tournament held in Encino.
While the team did not end up in the trophy round, they battled hard. Over the course of the four games in two days and a funnel cloud through the infield, highlights included Levi Pabst making diving plays at the mound, Nate Hunstable and Jack Pfau hitting ground rule doubles, Bennett Goldman knocking an in-the-park grand slam, Lola Low crushing a double to start a rally and Teddy Amorosi playing sure handedly in the infield.
Reece Locicero and Mason Stucker were rock steady at the plate. Outfielders Richie Ryan, Mathew Alovo and Brody Ruyle turned in solid performances as well.
According to Jason Pfau, the team manager, “This team has all the makings of a team that can compete on the highest level, we just need to clean a few things up in the field and on the base path. We expect in our two upcoming tournaments to fare better now that we have had a taste of the tournament competition.”
