The Crescenta Sports Assn. Pinto 8 & Under Tournament Team celebrated winning all three of their games on June 5, including the championship game “B” Division, in the Charter Oak hosted COYBSA One-Day Tournament held.

The first of three was against Hart-7U, an encore match from a previous contest the week prior where they placed second in the Irvine Memorial Day Baseball Tournament. The Pintos won Sunday 3-1.

That game was followed by a “mercy” call on Orange Crush, 14-0. The last contest was played at home against the Charter Oak-Avengers in the finals. Charter Oak jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but La Crescenta battled back to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning and never looked back.

After a little over one and a half hours, the game was completed in regulation five and a half innings right at dusk, with each of the players receiving a first place medal as part of their victory celebration. The final score was 11-3.

The team will next head to Westlake on June 18 & June 19 for the Diamond Rock Baseball Tournament, and then to the La Cañada Tournament on June 25 & June 26.
