Future LMU Golfer is Low Qualifiers

The Insurance Brokers and Agents of Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena held their local qualifying tournament for the Trusted Choice Big “I” Junior National Golf Championship on June 25 at the Oakmont Country Club. The low qualifier was Blake Meek of Pasadena, shooting 78 in windy conditions. Meek will be playing golf for Loyola Marymount University next year.

Cody Renfro, 16, a member of the Crescenta Valley High School Falcon golf team, shot 79 that also qualified him for the state championship. David Holeman of La Crescenta placed third, shooting 84 and Sean Davitt of La Cañada shot 86.

The next stage of qualifying for the national championship will be the Big “I” Junior Classic California State Tournament at De Laveaga Golf Course in Santa Cruz on July 11 and July 12. The golfers who qualify from the state tournament will advance to the National Big “I” Junior Classic held at the Country Club of North Carolina the first week of August.
