The CV High School girls’ volleyball team will take to the court this season without Madison Blohm, who graduated last year.

The Crescenta Valley High School girls’ varsity volleyball team will tip off the 2019 season on Aug. 20 at Granada Hills HS at 5:30 p.m. From then, the girls will play in tournaments and non-Pacific League matches until their league opener on Sept. 3 at Hoover High School. The regular season will go to Oct. 17, when the Falcons play at Arcadia at 5 p.m. in the finale.

Last season, the girls went 23-12-1, and 9-5 in league. They made the CIF playoffs with new head coach Matt Simons, and co-captains Teeny Noordermeer and Lizzy Kerman. Noordermeer, along with nine other seniors, have left, and the team will now feature seven seniors, including co-captain Isabella Doom and Kerman, who retain co-captainship.

The girls are still in the middle of a summer schedule. They play at Burbank HS today, practice for the next two weeks, and are back at it in a Flintridge Sacred Heart HS tournament Aug. 7 through Aug. 9.
