CV Junior All Stars made an incredible run on Saturday defeating Fullerton, Redondo Beach and Ontario to propel the team to the elimination bracket.
When CV met Los Pueblos, the team seemed to have everything under control. Pitcher Brian Harley left the game with a 10-2 lead in the top of the sixth but from there CV needed four pitchers to try to keep Los Pueblos at bay. Los Pueblos was having none of it and scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh for a comeback win 10-11. Los Pueblos will go on to meet their foe in Manhattan Beach, which will be a best two of three series for the state championship.
CV left the field having earned one of four top spots in Southern California.
Highlights of the game included two doubles by Devon Ramaker, a double by Sam Kunz who drove in two RBIs, a base hit, a sack fly and an RBI by Andrew Boyle, two hits by Ian McCluskey, two singles and an RBI by David Melendez and a double by Trent Steele. Chad Ruf walked three times and was hit by a pitch.
