Glendale native and St. Francis alum Vinny DePinto shot a two-day total of 133 to capture the third annual Glendale City golf championship. Entering the final round tied for third, DePinto fired a two over par 74 from the championship tees at Oakmont Country Club to win by one stroke over Ryan Miranda and Brandon Shin.
The Deukmejian Flight was won by Glendale businessman and Oakmont member Bob Merette who shot a net score of even par. The Verdugo Flight was won by Cliff Tucker and the Brand Flight was won by Carlos Hererra.
The city championship is sponsored by The Local Trusted Choice Insurance Agents and all funds raised benefit the Glendale Parks and Open Space Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit that is run by volunteers and helps preserve parks and open space in the Glendale community.
Tournament co-chair Rick Dinger praised many for the group effort.
“I can’t thank the members enough at Oakmont, the staff at both Oakmont and Scholl Canyon and all of the volunteers for helping make this championship such a great success,” Dinger said.
