The Full Force Basketball Hawks took the Impact Summer League championship with an exciting double overtime win.
Hawks point guard Tyler Carlson, who had six points, six rebounds and five steals, scored the first six points to start the game, but the Impact team scored the next 11 to lead at half time 11-6.
With just under six minutes to go and down by 12, the Hawks began their comeback, scoring the last 12 points in regulation, six in the final minute.
Andrew Boyle, who pulled down nine rebounds, hit the game tying shot at the end of regulation and again at the end of the first overtime.
Alex Hartwick scored five points and grabbed seven rebounds, hitting a big basket and a free throw in OT.
The leading scorer with eight points was Max Landa who made the go ahead basket in the second overtime.
Samuel Ahn played some solid defense, shutting down Impact’s top scorer. Samuel also hit two big free throws in the second OT.
Hawks outscored Impact 5-0 in the second OT to secure the 25-20 victory.
The Hawks, coached by CVHS alum Dylan Kilgour, are made up of second, third and fourth graders from La Crescenta and Glendale schools.
