On Wednesday, Sept. 14, the Falcons took part in multi-team event at Crescenta Valley Park.
Teams racing included Burroughs, Canyon Country, Glendale, Golden Valley, Holy Family, Pasadena and Saugus High School. This was another non-scoring meet that gave the athletes a chance to tune up without officially effecting league results. It also prepares the runners for the Staub/Barnes Invitational, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 at CV Park.
The varsity boys race had an impressive showing by the Canyon team with a win by Wims from 16:19, and a fourth place by teammate Hillquist.
Falcon senior Mike Duncan grabbed a second place (16:29) with Andrade of Burroughs taking third (17:04). Canlas of Glendale took sixth (17:20).
The girls’ varsity race was won by Sassano of Saugus (19:47), with CV junior Cali King placing second(19:50). Reed from Saugus took third place (20:08) with Ali Johnson grabbing the fourth (20:23). Soto of Canyon placed fifth (20:24) and CV’s Brooke Moultrie placed sixth (20: 29).
